I'd agree with a comment from wikipedia saying Diamond strokes brushes very wide. Additionally, one feels he cherry-picks the data, presenting nearly no opposing views and nearly no references, may be due to the wide scope of work and may be due to the fact that the book was planned to be a popular scince book, even a best seller. Yet, for the unprofessional people, this is a very good staring point to gain an idea.

As I read thru, I more feel that the explanations are based on some caricaturistic perception of the world, examples seem chosen cherry-picked. Yet the author partially confesses that. Still a good start for the subject.
