Of course Yumeko and Mary's classmates were gullible enough to trust Rin at his word. They turned on the former fast when she lost to Yuriko.

Reading the last chapter made me re-realize the English dubs for Kakegurui cast a younger actor for Rin vs. Ibara, which adds another layer to their dynamic. It's clear the former has power over the latter given Ibara can't tell a lie (which I'm curious to see how that will manifest), but Rin gives off this authoritative edge because he's a direct Obami descendent.

The anime and earlier manga content hinted slightly at Rin's secret sinister side, but this is going to be the first time Kawamoto's physical confronting it. I'm excited.

I didn't end up reading this during the movie last night. I ended up having my dinner and dessert, plus did dishes during the commercial breaks for the Curious Caterer movie. Per sophomore year of high school, though, since I marked where I was post the starting pages, I'll keep the start date the same.

Side note: This is also the first ILL I've gotten of this series from a different library.

Like with the Emma manga adaptation, I might not be able to read this prior to the HM&M premiere tonight, but if I do, I'll sneak some status updates on here.
