On Bernard Rimland: OH MY GOD WHY WAS HIS FOREWORD ALLOWED IN TEMPLE GRANDIN'S BOOK!????? He just fetishizes parts of autism while also being openly glad "with how much less autistic-sounding she is today than she was when I first met her." Also what the HELL is a "recovered autistic"!?

Seriously? Now three people, including Temple herself, spout harmful rhetoric about autistic people. Rimland: "recovered autistic" and "much less autistic-sounding now." Carlock: "she found her way out of autism." Grandin: "(many people) believe that 'once autistic, always autistic.' This dictum has meant sad and sorry lives for many children diagnosed, as I was in early life, as autistic." What is going on???
