it’s so obvious that there’s a dangerous situation so close to the protagonist that it’s agonising to watch her ignore the signs (even though she’s a suspense writer! she’s supposed to be smart). reminds me of horror movies where the main characters just walk directly into the danger zone despite obvious warnings
