Great first chapter. Falls off a little after that, but still has some compelling scenes and world building.
The editing is, unfortunately, a bit sloppy--too many run-on lines, description lists, word and phrase repetition (and even an entire paragraph is virtually repeated at one stage). The phrasing can be quite unorthodox, which throws me out of the story at times. Nevertheless, enjoyable so far.
