Adam is getting closer to being discharged from the hospital....or is he??

Adam is still in the hospital with pneumonia and has taken to telling stories to all who will listen. His health is not improving, as the breathing treatments continue.

Protagonist still in the hospital and his health is worsening, despite treatment and Doctor's platitudes. Still having vividly unsettling dreams(nightmares?).

The protagonist, Adam, has been in the hospital for a few days with pneumonia, but with each treatment, his condition seems to worsen. Add to that he is extremely bored and does nothing but watch TV and sleep. His dreams are beyond strange and now he is beginning to fear sleep because of them.

Similar beginning to "Bartholomew," but then the plot changes dramatically.
