You´d think that a federal office wouldn't care about what the press writes about them, but I guess not. Surely the FBI has better things to do than battle accusations about an agent they know is trustworthy. They know the history, they know the facts. Plus, Clarice Starling of all agents? It was said she hadn't done anything remarkable since her Hannibal the Cannibal days, but she still has that credit for cracking

As good of a villian he makes, Mason really leans into the ´disabled villain' narrative. Disabled people will frequently be shown as evil or vain, similar to how gay people of all genders are predetors or pedophilles. Those specific stereotype is very prevalent in this series, with this author? Like Buffalo Bill in the The Silence of the Lambs.
