The first two chapters summarize well known failures of capitalism (though something scary i didn't know - the patents on gmo seeds), give some reasons why first epoch socialism (USSR) failed and argue that democratic involvement of the whole society in technological planning is necessary for real progress toward human goals, in a socialist context, because it needs the removal of class antagonisms at large scale.
