I never did finish this worthy tomb, no fault of Mr. Bryson, whose prose is quite enjoyably readable. It's time to say something about having taken it up, a mere three years having passed since I returned it with a dollar's worth of fine to the Durham Public Library. In future I shall do better at posting feedback to Goodreads. :-) Maybe.
