I'm honestly struggling with the incest. At least in GoT there is a fantasy element, or the ones doing it are the villains, that helps. Or with the Scarabae they're not even humans, but vampires.

okay so ur updates really got me curious abt this book. I did some research and irl Isabella was 10 years old when she married the king (15)👀 is it revealed how old she is in the book?

I did not know that, but obviously the author did. omfg that makes this book 10x more wrong 💀 The author does reveal the king is 15 years old and that the heroine is younger than him. (view spoiler) Knowing she's only 10 years old having that convo is wrong on so many levels, I can't.

Take your time. I'm putting it on hiatus for now. I think the author had to have read Lolita, was inspired by Plantagenet/Capet drama and decided Isabel would be perfect for the role. She threw in some incest for added kicks.

OK! Your status updates have been quite alarming but Natasha Peters has kind of put me in the mood for reading weird old skool.
