I found this book a slog, is part because every character seems despicable in some way, and the narrator herself seems to go out of her way to be unpleasant. Her discursive storytelling also makes the experience seem interminable, an the book easily could have been shortened by 1/3. I've liked other books by Kirino, but this one left me irked.
