I don't quite know what to say. Not as literary as Joyce but more coherent than Kerouac. Reminiscent of Orwell's Down and Out in Paris and London.Worth reading.Veryble passages about his life as a young boy growing up in Parisian slums. Mirth-inducing descriptions of his parents, a poor and long-suffering crippled mother and a father from Brittany, a frustrated former sailor putting in time as an insurance adjustor.
