just for the gimmicks chapter, the book is worth it

Goldberg makes excellent points of comparison between classic and CG animation. Obviously he is partial towards classic 2D, which is what I was hoping and expecting for in this book.
His classic 2D veteran perspective on CG animation helps to reveal some pros, cons, advantages and challenges of CG animation in a refreshing way for me, coming from a 3D, CG formation. It helps unlearning and relearning things.

This is truly a crash course. The FX animation are just a couple of pages.
