dnf. I fully intend to finish this at some point. there's so much to like about this book, I just got derailed by some other books I was reading at the same time. I love the immersive writing style. everything just has a sparkle to it

also, this is an adult book. just because a woman wrote a fantasy novel doesn't make it ya or middle grade.
