ice man was an interesting ending to this book. Again, I liked it. I wouldn't read the entirety of this book again, maybe I'll have to look into the meanings more, but it was good. By no means do I regret it.

great two-part story. loved it. intense, but good. would reread.

I don't usually enjoy stories about children and families and all, but story four was good. I liked it. Maybe... second favorite so far. I loved the first one more, I think. It's all kind of blending together.

I'm confused, Murakami hasn't said anything poor about women thus far, is it true he writes about them poorly?

Third story was sweet. I don’t know the underlying meaning, but sweet… and real. Or, Murakami self inserted.

Burning barns… no idea what that’s supposed to mean. I must not be sophisticated enough.

19. “It’s not a question of making yourself believe there IS an orange there, you have to forget there ISN’T one.”

First story in this compilation is making me SO DEPRESSED—it’s about losing memories against your will, being scared to recount them in fright you may be missing the most important parts. I’ve felt that way since 2013.
