I had stopped reading this book because the two main characters went from "never even meet your species before" to "I really really like this strange person I'm contemplating an arranged marriage with" basically on first meeting.

Ironically, I need to stop reading my current book because of the exact opposite problem. Well, in that one they love each other immediately, but spend years not telling the other.
