Just finished the introduction section of this book which focused on the 10 year forecast statements. This book a couple years old, but it's amazing to see progress made toward some of these statements. Some key statements called out about the rich and poor gap having significant impacts with our future along with the impact of the digital natives (18 and younger according to the book).

Skill #6 constructive depolarizing which is defined as the ability to calm tense situations where differences dominate and communication has broken down. Book keeps getting better providing good tips for areas of focus for me to improve my ability to perform.

Finally picking this book back up. Just finished Skill #6 Bio-empathy. Bio-empathy is the ability to see things from a natural point of view to understand, respect, and learn patterns. One statement in this chapter I 100% agree with is biology and life sciences will be part of the next big global economic driver.

I also finished chapter 3 focused on skill #3 Dilemma flipping. Dilemma flipping is reimagining unsolvable challenges as a threat and opportunity. This is one of favorite chapters to date. Dilemma flipping is NOT problem solving. I really want to hone this skill for my leadership toolkit.

Little behind on my reading and updates. I am thoroughly enjoying this book. I Finished Chapter 2 focused on skill #2 clarity. Clarity as a leader defined in the book involves seeing through messes and contradictions by making things clear. Topic is extremely challenging in the VUCA world defined by The book.

Just finished Chapter 1 on the first skill "Maker Instinct". As defined in the book a maker instinct is an inner drive to build and grow things. Definitely see this skill playing out in todays society. Surprised there wasnt mention of how this applies to software. Which most of our world being digital creation in this virtual world will be imperative. Or maybe is just my inner software "maker instinct" speaking.
