I read the book A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park
(Spoilers!)
The book is broken up between two stories about a boy named Salva and a girl named Nya. The two kids faced many struggles in their lives but kept fighting hard and got through everything. Salva lived in South Sudan with his parents and siblings, he was at school one day when a war struck and he was told to run and never look back. (I ran out of space)
