I was initially displeased that Duncan was brought hack as Hayt, but I've found myself captivated by him. I'm fascinated with this role in this story. It's embarrassing that I think he's just as attractive as before, even if in an entirely different way now.

I'm surprised by how much more it feels like Herbert is noting the sexuality of the characters in Messiah vs Dune. It felt as if that would have been more present in a book with a teen boy as the main character, but it seems as if Alia's sexuality is much more notable. It's whatever.
