I don't really understand Max. I'm conflicted that his Master is dating someone (and prefers women) while he's training Max. And I'm disturbed by some of the language around James's ethnicity. At the same time the narrative seems to have a resonance and honesty around the nature of service and devotion. But, yeah *shakes head* Hard to grok.

That was difficult to keep reading through. Transgressing social behavior norms makes me very uncomfortable
