Alejandro, a 500+ year old vampire, forces the four marks on Anita during a battle between Oliver, a million+ year old vampire and those he controls, including Alejandro, against Jean Claude and his followers. Being his "human servant" makes her strong and immune to being "mind rolled" by Oliver. It also erases Jean Claude's marks. Anita kills Oliver and Alejandra. Richard is a werewolf.

Extra Notes: Takes place 4 months after book 1 starts and 2 months after book 1 ends. October. Jean Claude can is more powerful when Anita is near him. He can still cloud her mind with effort and can pull strength from her so she sees what he sees. A Master vampire can unintentionally taint a body when killing it creating an animalistic vampire which feels no pain.

In books 1 and 2, it was indicated that Zombies rarely attacked people to eat them. Now, Anita is telling Larry, a new animator, that uncontrolled Zombies will attack people in order to find blood. Anita fed an uncontrolled Zombie her blood in order to control it.

During the 2 months between book 2 and 3, Anita had gone on 2 dates with John Burke, but he had very southern views of how a woman should act and Anita is too tough. Only the master vampire that made an animalistic vampire can control it but any vampire strong enough can control another "regular vampire".
