This was 5-star delicious angst until it was absolutely… dreadful. I suspended disbelief over the TSTL behaviour of her husband (seriously, you can’t ask basic questions?), and the timing was often laughably unbelievable, but the pathos was worth it. But then it was way, way too much cheese with the pitiful heroine. The repetition of her Saintliness and the Nicholas Sparks cringe melodrama at the end was AWFUL.
