Worth mentioning, but while the characters were indistinct at first, I definitely can appreciate them more now. Standouts include Randy, Veronica, Diane, and of course the good ole’ professor.
There are a LOT of characters, and I do still have some issues keeping them straight and picturing them even now. I do suppose it’s accurate. Some of that may have to do with reading in small chunks.

I’m definitely enjoying it so far but I am mostly consuming it in small chunks.
Pros:
1. Lots of wit
2. I like the voice of our main character/narrator
3. Great job at establishing the setting and vibe
Cons:
1. Inscrutable references (both culture and more sophisticated), and tons of them
2. Feel like our MC should react more dramatically to strange events
3. A slow read
4. Strange pacing
Both: the characters

I figured the number of characters might be problematic, hence the list of coworkers in the entry for January 6. It doesn't help that some people have nicknames, aliases, and name variants. I will try to address this in Books Two and Three. Btw, I've never been good at describing people. I make a joke about that in Book Two.
