A really interesting read. It took a little bit of time to get used to the language but once over that hurdle the diary was both informative and amusing in equal measures. The details of the food eaten, the parties, and village and farm life really brought the characters to life. The story behind the diary itself is also intersting in its own right. I will read it again.
