My head is hurting today, and there's a storm outside, so it's nice to indulge myself in reading this intriguing novel. I am not sure if this is taking place in a time warp or a future that has reverted to the technology of a former age , but it's highly intriuging and the word pictures are excellent.

I don't know if this is writing a spoiler, but it is nice to meet Maya again. The former Selene has always been a favourite character of mine.

I thought at first that this story took place in a time warp, what with the only form of transport being horses, and the technology being that used before the invention of electricity. Now, I see that this is a society where technology has largely reverted to that of a former age after the cataclysmic events of the former novel. I should have thought of that.
