Loved it. I just noticed that I didn't rate it. It got added when I did my backlog and I didn't star rate most of those. A lot of people hated it though. No one has ever asked me this but my LJ 'name' (The Charcoal Burner) comes from one of her short stories.

I like the writing. Thick, slow-moving books don't deter me as long as it's moving somewhere.

I'd read several of her short stories long before the novel came out. I loved them and was keenly looking forward to more of her writing. It's physically unwieldy though. I have a mobi now. :)
