The kids are intrigued by the idea of an alternate universe even though they don't really understand what it is.
I'm still struggling with the dialogue. There are so many sentences that contain "...". It's distracting.

I'm reading this out loud to my kids (ages 10 & 8) and they are enjoying it. Most chapters leave off with an interesting tidbit that makes them want me to continue reading.
I, personally, am quite tired of the dialogue. The redundant conversations (both internally and externally) may make the book easier for younger kids to understand, but I feel like it's just extending the book by an unnecessary 100 pages.
