Not bad at all, it brings me back to when I used to read books like The Witcher, so if you've read anything like that you'd enjoy it, it's mainly focused on war with the supernatural blended in on top of realism. It's a nice casual read, with the added benefits of Muslim presence (as it is central to the main characters identity).

I'd say my only criticism so far is that the worldbuilding isn't entirely worked on because it's basically the same thing as our world if it was in a late 19th century to early 20th century Cold War.

But otherwise, easy to binge and entertaining most of all since the action sequences are done pretty well.

I see, thank you! Sounds like a nice fun read, tbh I could never finish GOT, The Witcher & those kinds of books because they became repetitive, but they're enjoyable every once in a while- perhaps I'll give it a go next summer then.

I get what you mean, these type of books have a recognizable feeling to it and if you're not into action/drama in the sense that it's written in a 'pop-lit' format then there's no need to dive fully into something you've tried before already. Think of these types of books as casual entertainment, instead of the usual Nabokov, Dostoevsky etc.
