I've never read any Jane Austen before, and I don't really know much about her, so I have been very pleasantly surprised by how humorous and sarcastic this book is. Favorite things so far include the way Mr and he Mrs Palmer interact, and the deliciously catty and extremely shady conversations Elinor and Lucy have had about Edward -- a master class in killing your rivals with kindness. I'm really enjoying it so far!
