Boringgggggggggg I’m fighting for my life trying to finish this

Probably going to skim through the rest of the book. Just want to get through it to internalize the information

After reading the chapter in collection theory for art museums, I am rightfully angry at the author. Not only does his attitude for indigenous and folk art disregard the genuine artistic merit of non-Western and non-professional art, but is flat out racist and high brow. Beyond that, the attitude towards contemporary art is obviously 50 years old. I’m glad things have changed since then.

So far, this book definitely shows it’s age (specifically the chapter on ‘Museums Today’). However, the definitions were very useful and I am interested in the more fundamental information that is to come.
