I am currently at a 300 page section that is frankly a real slog. Knausgaard is at his best when he is candidly describing his life, motivations, and environment - at his worst when he is providing exegesis on WW2 era history, poetry, the Bible, or arm chair psychology. It feels like he randomly inserted several half-baked college papers into this otherwise great memoir - which truly needs a 500 page edit for bloat.
