'How did the commentary develop that... one... party became known as pro-science and the other anti-science? We might certainly read this phenomenon as just another chapter in the popular representation of Republicans being anti-science conspiracy theorists and Democrats as oppressive socialists, but that doesn't really explain how regulatory standards, testing and... immunity... serve as grounds for... warfare'
