Tabea Is this books good? It’s been on my tbr forever since I avoid starting it for some reason…

vanni I'm very torn tbh. The setting and world-building is AMAZING (which is expected from a book this long) but I'm not that fond of the protagonist (he's actually my least fav character lmao). Thus far, the book gives these "written by a man for men"-vibes, which is very annoying. I'll probably finish it (since I don't have a lot left and the pacing of the story is balanced enough to keep me going) and then I can wrap up my thoughts.
I can lend it to you once I'm finished if you'd like :D (you can just read through the first chapters to see if it's for you)

Tabea It’s actually already on my shelf :D
Just keep putting off reading it already, I bought it for the length so I’d had something to keep me busy for a while but I just don’t feel as excited about starting it as I maybe should 😅

vanni I mean, maybe it's just me; I've had my issues with Jay Kristoff's writing in the past, though I still decided to give him another chance with this book. As I said; the world building is really great, and I'm honestly going to read further only for that, as I'm not really that fond of the characters. Just have a look at the book and see for yourself:D (the book absolutely has its amazing bits! and also not so amazing bits imo)
