Joe Ooooohhhh... What do you think so far?

Robin I'm enjoying it. The pros are that I like food and historic menus. I also like learning how for Churchill even what was on the menu and where people would be sitting were all strategy too. It's an interesting commentary on how the art of conservation is a dying form. (Churchill didn't like music at dinners because rather than having all these important people around sitting silently listening to music, you could be getting things done, making headway and agreeing on policies through conversing). The cons are that it's not a very in-depth book (one review called it "frothy") and it has weird text box inserts oddly placed that break up the flow of the reading. Seems like those inserts were otherwise interesting tidbits that instead of making it into the narrative text were just thrown on like sprinkles--distracting sprinkles.
