She has a few girls call on her who ask for her help to go to school. Their parents can't afford. One does sewing/embroidery which Andrea buys and sells and the other makes Jewellery. Andrea's mum sells some of the sewing and Jewellery. Finally had her paperwork and they were having an official opening of the new Health Centre. Andrea gets gifts from the villagers she sees in surgery eg milk from their cows, eggs.

An amazing and beautiful book. Triumphs and tragedies, lovely family scenes, medical stories-not like any I've read before-and I've read a few medical memoirs. Wonderful.

Vladimir still keeps trying. he didn't give up on her! So sweet how he asks if she will be his girl and tells her he loves her. Cows hoof soup! Even though I had to pause reading this as I beta read a book in between which had to be done to a deadline-I never lost the thread or the enthusiasm for this book. Wonderful. At quite a beautiful bit now where Andrea finds out some news.

Delays yet again getting her documentation-full registration as a doctor in Ecuador. Relationship with Vladimir developing, not common knowledge but a colleague has noticed. He reminded her that Latin men are renowned for their infidelity. She did have doubts them and told Vladimir that perhaps best not to continue.

She's going to an Ecuadorean wedding-one of her patients. Last minute invitation which she says is typical of there. Different sort of wedding cake to ours. Went to fair with Vladimir, rides etc. Relationship with Vladimir developing, not common knowledge but a colleague has noticed. He reminded her that Latin men are renowned for their infidelity.
