How the Romans took the Greek myths and changed the names, but also had their own, like Romulus and Remus (who were descendants of Troy). How myths influence culture today, how words we use come from myths, like Odyssey. Movies, books, video games, etc. who are inspired by myths.

The heroes such as Odysseus. The Trojan war. Ending talking about Greece and preparing to talk about Roman myths.

Finishing up with the Olympian gods it's Dionysus. There are a couple different stories of his birth but especially weird is where he is born, killed and eaten, born again. Wild parties and his cult. Lesser gods: Muses, charities, satyrs, nymphs, Pan, Hecate, Triton, then even more minor deities, like Nike and Nemesis, representing specific virtues and vices, etc.

Chapters on Ares and Athena, both warriors but with very different approaches. Also, more soap opera like moments.

This goes into more of the messed up lives and relationships of the Greek gods. Rape and incest all over the place.

Talks about the Olympians. Their relationships. How messed up they were especially Zeus. Briefly different versions of the myths. Started on Poseidon.

It goes over the idea that most creation myths have an idea of "out of chaos" comes order. Greek mythology is no different, and it goes over some of these stories, how some of them have different versions. Talks about how everything came to be, and how man did, and a seemingly sexist explanation for the existence of woman (the Greek explanation)There are many parallels that can be made to different cultures.

Talks about what myths are, trying to establisha definitition, why they were written and some examples and background. Both Greek and Roman. It goes on to talk about famous writers of myths, such as Homer, even going into the debate about who he really was. How many of them were also philosophers such as Ovid and gives some examples of their work.
