I think there are only two books on Terayama Shuji in English. A mega-important figure in contemporary Japanese aesthetics - especially in the 1960's through the 1970's.

He's certainly drastically under-acknowledged from what I've seen.

His movies are amazing. There used to be some super high quality boots of them available but I think they've vanished. Does this book include visuals, or is it just a textual appreciation of his work?
The book is a semi-academic (but totally readable) study on his work - which is strange considering his work is near impossible to get - or with English translations. I believe there is (or was) some of his work on YouTube. In Japan there was a box-set that was beautifully designed - and their are numerous books on him in Japan - as well as by him. So sadly this book has some black and white images, it is not a visual item. There is a need for a highly visual representation in book form.
Excellent copies can be found here of two of his best movies, with good english subs: http://www.allcluesnosolutions.com/in...
