I found 'Raise the red lantern' quite enjoyable. The characters are well written and the story easy to read and enjoy. But I kinda got lost in 'Nineteen Thirty Four Escapes'. It just hasn't been able to capture my attention the way red lantern did. I'm somewhat disappointed with it actually.
