As an expat, I find myself on an almost weekly basis explaining that there is no "Belgian" as a language, our mothertongue is either Flemish or Walloon (depending on where you were born), which are like Dutch and French respectively (much like American is like English)....

author states because of Brussels being the European capital, most people can now (roughly) locate Belgium on a map... --- uuuhm... very roughly in my experience 😂
