According to my rejection email, Netgalley no longer approves those solely posting on review sites without a blog or credentials. This broke my heart. Also, after tweeting that Netgalley does not give out contact info to publishers unless permission is given I get an email from a publicist the next day saying she saw my info from there. Now this is just disappointing.

So, no more galleys for anyone unless they have a blog? This is bittersweet... bitter because who likes to be rejected, but mostly sweet for me because now I will stop chasing arcs, which 9 out of 10 times make me hate to read, hehe.

I haven't reviewed their terms but the email says this in italics, "Please note that solely posting to review sites no longer warrants approvals without a blog or other credential." I don't know what credentials they're looking for.

This sucks, not for me because I'm horrible with reviewing galleys, but for reviewers here without blogs. A lot of reviewers whose opinions I trust don't have blogs, unless you count Booklikes blogs. Maybe that still counts.

I know what you mean. Reviewing arcs feel like a chore sometimes but who doesn't love the thrill of seeing that approval email :)
