Just realized the other day that Fisch translated my version of Vico's "New Science," which was surprising given what I knew about him (Peirce and American phil.).

That's awesome!! He wrote his dissertation on Vico. At the Peirce conference this summer I went to a panel on Fisch and they talked about his Vico dissertation. They said he continued revising it throughout the rest of his life but was never satisfied with it. The timing of your post is kind of funny to me because I am currently reading a chapter titled Vico and Pragmatism from Fisch's book Peirce, Semeiotic, and Pragmatism, which, by the way, you should check it out. Great scholarship and interesting insights into early American philosophy and the precursors of pragmatism.
