Going back and forth between socio-linguistic analysis of common cursing to literary analysis of toilet stall poems is a strange kind of—and not unpleasant—reading experience. Two quotes, so far, deserve to be reproduced here, without context:
“meat waffle is clearly a word in search of a referent” (7).
“The fart, the harbinger wind, foretells the tardy, yet inevitable turd” (96).
