I'm pretty conflicted over whether or to what extent I like this book. I want to like it. I really want to like it. But it falls short; at times by taking recourse to cheap maneuvers, at other times by leaping too swiftly and unconvincingly over odd gaps from one place to another without clear or suitably meaningful connections. And yet, things about it are incredibly smart, original, provocative.
