Picked this up in a second hand bookshop with no prior knowledge of it. Curious little volume, a snapshot of a much earlier London, some of it made me wince a little but overall nicely written. As I have enjoyed reading both Jerome K Jerome and Edward Lovett, I found welcome similarities in both the dry humour and the reportage style.
