Sometimes you just have to let a thing stand on its own. Because Neil Gaiman is a beloved favorite author, when I come across the rare book that I haven't already read, I trust that it will be a worthwhile ride. Is it the GOAT? No it isn't. However, it is a really fun bit of fantasy that makes for a great palate cleanser when you get that dunno-what-to-read-next feeling. I'm having a great time with it.
