Why does my dad still have all this power over me. Even though we haven't spoken in years. I am still hurting so much because of him. I feel like am so messed up at times and like it's never going to change

Sometimes you just have to acknowledge that some things will never change. Specially the way a father will always have power over his children no matter what. The only thing to do is accept it and move away from it if it hurts us more than it does us any good.

My life is messed up too.... this year has not done good to me... I can relate though not in father daughter problem but on messed up life ... yes... Don't worry everything will be fine. If you need any help in getting the anger out of your system you can always talk to someone. just like you made a status here you can talk to someone who will understand you and give you solution to your problems. I hope you sort things out with your father and be happy. Parents always wants to look out for their kids... they can be sooooo irritating sometimes but ... they are just doing their job. Your father loves you obvsly.. its just sometimes elders decisions are stupid to us now but later we will thank them. IDK what is the matter but.. you shuld sit and talk, sort things out b/w you and ur father.I hope you good.
