Chuck A Hey man, hows it hangin? How is this book, it looks cool.

Daniel Smith Hey Chuck! Life is pretty good man, just killing time until I retire in a year. How's class and Arabic treating you? Alex told me you got orders to 65 which is fricken awesome dude!

So this is the 2nd book by this author that I've read. I randomly discovered one of his other books called "Living Poor" which is his memoir from his time living in Ecuador as a Peace Corps volunteer. The guy is an incredibly good writer and super interesting dude. The first book is from the 1960s and this one I'm reading is early 1990s. The author was a bombardier in a B17 bomber in WWII who flew something like 170 missions then after the war became a farmer in California. When he was in his 50s he decided to join the peace corps and head to South America where he spent the rest of his life. These books, and the one I'm reading now, are his journals and thoughts about his time in South America. This one he takes a trip to Brazil and most of it is a mix of his travels and thoughts about his life. I think its really awesome and this guy is like a grouchy old WWII vet with an interesting take on things. If you're interested I can lend it to you when you get here.

Take care bud

Chuck A Yeah man, I'm beyond stoked to get over there. I gotta hit up the sponsor coordinator and see whereabouts I might be headed, or if I have any choice in the matter. Either way I'm just stoked to be getting back to Maryland. Been looking at houses in Columbia (and downtown Bmore). But yeah man, beyond happy I got those orders. I'll keep you posted but yeah I should be there in April timeframe i'm thinking. When do you retire? I pry wont be in shop til summer time after indoc and all that.

Daniel Smith Awesome man, super happy for ya! I retire end of September 2023 so getting close but still a decent chunk of time left. Hopefully I will be doing Skillbridge by the time you get out here which will be a nice easy 6 month stint as a civilian. Hopefully everything goes smoothly for ya and if you ever need any help with Arabic just hit me up man.
