I have quite a few gripes with this book, and many things I feel are overly derivative, cliche and just silly to read. But one thing I feel the book gets right, and speaks to me, is the portrayal of aching loneliness, the longing for connection and warmth even from the wrong places, the longing for validation and restlessness
