So far what I'm struck (perhaps imprecisely) by in this is the implied relationship between the Hutchinson Mr. and Mrs. I find it difficult to believe that someone as opinionated and openly disliking of "feminine pursuits" as Lucy would be able to be coerced into living a life as a patriarchal wife. One can only conclude she loved her husband greatly and writes because she truly respected him. I could be wrong tho
