The internal monologue of Kunta’s relentless plotting to escape back to Africa while silently judging the other enslaved Black people for eating swine and obeying the toubob makes me want to root for him, but knowing the history of America I know his rebellious thoughts and actions are futile.

I still have a bit of trepidation because I don’t foresee this ending happily ever after, but so far it’s looks like Kunte caught a break after loosing his foot. I mean it’s not exactly good but it could definitely be worse.
